Nellie - Arrived Tailends 6th September 2009
Nellie
is a small 11 year old lurcher cross who came to Tailends on September
6th 2009 from a northwest dog pound where she had been since July
29th. She was very unhappy and stressed in the kennel causing her
to tremble continually. She slept alone with just a piece of blanket
for comfort. She had apparently been rehomed recently but the people
returned her after just three days saying they could not afford
to keep her.
Nellie had a number of mammary tumours and a heart condition which has not yet led to heart failure so she does not need medication for it at the moment.
She was put on a course of antibiotics for an infection and if this has not improved in one week she will have chest x rays. I am hoping that her health issues can be resolved and that she can be spayed in due course.
Nellie
was delighted when she arrived here and loves her walks to the
beach. She stands on the dunes staring at the views and is fascinated
by the rabbits. She is such a sweet girl and is absolutely no trouble
at all. She sleeps happily in her comfortable bed during the night
though she is currently experiencing some chesty problems. Hopefully
the medication will resolve this within a few days.
