Tailends would like to thank everyone who sponsors one of our dogs. Your kind donations are helping us to look after these old boys and girls. I would like to make everyone aware that Tailends takes in elderly dogs who are often in a very poor condition. There are times when a dog does not have very long to enjoy the comforts and care which we give them. Therefore I cannot make predictions as to how long any dog will be with us, or if they will live for the duration of the sponsorship. Sometimes a dog will come here in the final stages of an illness which has never been diagnosed or treated while they were in kennels or in their previous home. I would be happy to advise anyone who is giving a sponsorship as a gift - particularly to a child - if they feel that the death of their chosen sponsored dog might cause distress. I can recommend which dogs are "likely" to survive for longer periods - though obviously no guarantees could ever be given, as we never know what life has in store. I hope this will not put people off sponsoring those oldies who arrive in poor health as they need the extra help to ensure that their stay here, however short, is enjoyable and comfortable.
